Oahu
has all types of accommodations available for its visitors
- from the normal lodging provided by hotels to alternative
lodging that include cottages, vacation rentals, hostels,
and bed and breakfasts. Bed and Breakfasts, sometimes
referred to as B&B’s, are becoming an increasingly
popular means of lodging because they are relatively inexpensive,
and also because they provide a personalized experience
with a touch of local flavor.
Every
bed and breakfast is different, but there is one basic
thing which is common in all of them. They are all usually
found in a renovated home, mansion or small hotel, where
travelers can spend a night and enjoy a full breakfast
(included in the price of the room) in the morning. Hence
the name bed and breakfast. They differ in what they have
to offer. Some B&B’s offer a full continental
breakfast, while others offer just coffee. Some have rooms
with private en suite or not en suite bathrooms, while
others have rooms with shared bathrooms. So it is always
best to first ask as to what they have to offer.
